Chungnam National University
Visiting Scholars Lecture Series (VSLS) 2011
On behalf of Chungnam National University, I am very pleased to inform you about the
Visiting Scholar Lecture Series (VSLS) 2011.
Chungnam National University (CNU), with its proud history of 58 years and its motto,
"Creativity, Development, and Service to the community," is one of the most prestigious
universities in the nation. In recently years, Chungnam National University (CNU) has been
working aggressively to achieve the goal of joining the ranks of the top 100 universities in
the world. In the pursuit of this broad goal, we are preparing to resume the Visiting Scholars Lecture Series (VSLS) 2011 during the summer session of 2011. The crux of this program is to invite internationally renowned scholars from the diverse academic fields to our campus in Daejeon, South Korea and to deliver a lecture to students of Chungnam National University while allowing us to share in advance academic disciplines. As we all agree to the importance of sharing advanced knowledge, information, and ideas between and among people, we believe that this program, the Visiting Scholars Lecture Series (VSLS) 2011, would provide the most ideal venue to this end.
In addition, Chungnam National University (CNU), geographically located in the central
region of the Korean peninsula, enjoys the best possible environment for its academic
excellence in research and education. It is partly due to the presence of high caliber
organizations such as the Daedeok R&D Special District, the Multifunctional Administrative
City, the Daejeon Government Complex, and the Headquarters of the Republic of Korea
Army, Air Force, and Navy. In other words, the university has been in the course of
development along with these organizations. We believe that the Visiting Scholars Lecture
Series (VSLS) 2011 would add more strength to our research and teaching tradition.
We would be deeply grateful if you could relate this information to interested parties and
hope that outstanding and highly motivated scholars around the world will apply for the
program.
