INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “FOREIGN LANGUAGES IN THE TREND OF INTERNATIONAL INTEGRATION”

In the context of a rising demand for a comprehensive transformation of higher education, making an important contribution to the successful implementation of the National Foreign Languages Project 2020 of Vietnam, and on the occasion of the 55th Founding Anniversary of Hanoi University (1959-2014), Hanoi University (HANU) will hold an international conference 'Foreign Languages in the Trend of International Integration'.

The conference aims to create a forum for international and local researchers, lecturers and experts for presentations of latest study results, professional networking and exchange of ideas with others regarding strategies for foreign languages development for different training institutions and universities in the era of international integration.

Time of the conference: 2 days, 11 and 12 November, 2014

Venue: Hanoi University, Km 9 Nguyen Trai Road, Hanoi, Vietnam

Participants: About 230 participants

- International and local representatives from ministries, the National Foreign Languages 2020 Project , embassies, universities, organisations and enterprises.

- International and local scientists, experts and researchers.

1. Conference content

The conference focuses on five main themes below:

- Panel 1: Foreign language majors;

- Panel 2: Major courses instructed in foreign languages;

- Panel 3: Teaching Vietnamese as a foreign language;

- Panel 4: Culture and cultural exchange in the integration and development process;

- Panel 5: Use of technologies and equipment in foreign language teaching and research.

2. Conference registration

Important dates:

- Abstract submission and conference registration (using the online or send-it-back forms on website: http://web.hanu.vn/sc/): from 1 March, 2014 to 30 May, 2014.

- Fulltext paper submission: from 30 June to 30 August, 2014.

- Official invitation to be sent out from 10 September to 20 September, 2014.

Languages used in the conference

- Plenary session: Vietnamese, English (subtitled in Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese).

- Concurrent sessions: Vietnamese and English.

- Abstract: to be written in English; fulltext papers can be written in one of the above-mentioned languages.

3. Conference fees

- Registration fee: free of charge.

- Conference participants pay for their own travelling, accommodation and food

- Presenters at the conference will be provided with lunch on 11 November, 2014 by the organisers.
