Summer vacation has gone, and I hope you are ready for the new year, and new interpretation practice. The topic for this week is "Development". The following extract is taken from a longer speech at an international conference orgraznied in Sapa (You know where it is, right?)

Just in case you forget, here are the tentative steps for your practice.

1. Download the audio file from the website (free)

2. Listen to it as many times as you wish to get a gist of what the speaker says.

3. When you are ready, listen to it again, pause at the "ting" sound and interpret (speaking). If you find it too hard, writing down in Vietnamese what you have heard is also acceptable

4. Continue until you get to the end of the file (...and services effectively)

If you have a heart for the file, you may want to transcribe it and send your transciption to me for correction (surely I have a heart for it). Good luck.
